DAZN Superbowl LVIII
Virtual 3D Studio & Live Broadcast

We were thrilled when DAZN tasked us with designing and building a 3D virtual studio set, for the live broadcast of the NFL’s Superbowl LVIII event in Las Vegas, Nevada. Not only a wonderfully creative project to bring to life/live technically, but also a hugely prestigious sporting event to be involved with.

After rounds of initial design sketches and wireframes, we built the entire set and environment in Cinema 4D, focusing on materials, lighting, and unique details such as incorporating the DAZN logo’s inward chevron shapes into the main set blocks.

We then worked with the talented Unreal Engine artists at Plazamedia to get the set ported and optimised for live broadcast. We built the final part of the project in Brainstorm InfinitySet, adding all camera moves, custom controls and switches for lighting, screens and multiple motion graphic setups for activation during broadcast. Keying in the hosting talent with lighting, shadows and selective mask triggers for foreground objects was the final touch, and the live all-night DAZN broadcast on 11th February 2024 was viewed by over 62 million people worldwide.
